For those people looking to combine their love for scuba diving, jet skiing and scooter riding into one recreation, meet HydroBOB.
HydroBOB is an underwater scooter that lets riders explore their underwater life aquatic without any diving or swimming experience necessary.
The yellow apparatus is currently available to rent at Ft. Lauderdale's Hydrodome. A $25 one hour package lets riders explore the mysteries of the deep...the deep end of a swimming pool that is. Unfortunately, despite its resemblance to a seahorse, HydroBOB is not available for joy rides under the sea.
After a short, 10 minute brief, riders hop in the pool and pop their head into HydroBOB's bubble helmet. Resembling a diving bell, the clear helmet gives riders a 180 degree field of vision. An oxygen tank housed in the chassis lets users breath freely. Riders simply hop on the saddle, twist the throttle and a motor propels the underwater scooter through the water.
Those bummed HydroBOB can't be taken out to explore sea life, don't fret. The company responsible HydroBOB rentals operates a school of robotic fish for users to interact with.
