Wattbike: $2,995
News flash: Practice doesn't make perfect...unless it's perfect practice. And perfect cycling practice is exactly what a team of British cycling coaches and scientists set out to empower when designing the Wattbike. Just as smart phones are more advanced than feature phones, the Wattbike is superior to traditional roller training stations. It not only accomplishes the primary job, but also gives you access to a wealth of information.

With a mean accuracy of two percent, each individually factory-calibrated Wattbike will measure and display your power output average -- per session and per revolution. It offers real-time monitoring and a summary of such data as your cadence, heart rate, pedaling efficiency and dozens of other parameters. Using magnetic sensors on the crank, it'll even tell you the difference between the total, peak, average and percentage of force you applied to the left vs. right pedals! Both the Trainer and Pro models utilize air and magnetic brakes to create a range of resistance settings in either pre-programmed or user-customized sessions. Pro cyclists and wannabes alike can improve their technique by comparing their peak performance against that of the best in the world and re-riding against their own previous workouts. The main difference between the two models is that the Trainer is intended for high-cadence/low-resistance excercising, as opposed to pro-specific sprinting and other high-end training.
