Contemplating cosmic love.
Joseph Keller

11:53 AM
me: Thanks for taking the time to chat with me this morning
 starrystella1972: our pleasure
me: Can you tell me where you're chatting from?
12:00 PM starrystella1972: we are in NYC. we performed a show last evening at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater and generally promoting our new book, Cosmic Coupling. we are doing a signing tomorrow at New York Fashion Week in the tents at Bryant Park
12:01 PM me: Oh how fun. How did the show go?
12:02 PM starrystella1972: it was great. Florence Henderson was the show before ours so it was kind of thrilling to meet the mother of all mother Aquarians in the flesh. and our show was rockin'. we had a full house and people laughed their heads off ... but not at our singing!
12:03 PM me: That's great. I'm glad you got up "early" to chat with me about how different star signs might us or not use technology to find, keep or get rid of love.
12:04 PM starrystella1972: that's what we do
me: So let me ask you in general terms, how do you think technology has influenced love over the years? Has it been a source of goodness or badness?
starrystella1972: like all things it's paradoxical. i don't think there is as much a stigma about meeting love through technology as there used to be but we think there is a sleaze factor

me: Sleaze factor, huh? Like what?
12:07 PM starrystella1972: well there are not just love match sites and means of connecting, there are also purely lustful things going on
 me: Like sexting?
12:08 PM Video chat rooms?
starrystella1972: that and sex hook-up sites. but we think it's pretty polarized. in other words, the more sanguine outlets are good at weeding out any purely libidinous elements
12:09 PM let's just say you can always find what you're looking for
me: so technology just makes it easier to hook up no what you're into.
12:10 PM starrystella1972: don't you think? also it can get really specific. vishla owners only site for kissing on the cheek only
  pygmies for pygmies
12:11 PM me: yes, good point. technology allows for  specificity in desire.
 starrystella1972: remember logan's run?
12:12 PM starrystella1972: michael york goes back to his "pod," or whatever they called apartments, and turns on his computer and scrolls through people live on screen pookin for nub. science fiction become science fact. the ipad? just like captain kirk's log
12:13 PM me: It's all happening.
starrystella1972: now you're quoting cameron crowe

Who Uses Tech to Find Love?

me: Ok, so now I want to know is, which star signs are more likely to use technology and which signs shy away?
starrystella1972: ahhhh thought you'd never ask
aries is a big no. they are hyper realists
they need to feel the urge in da flesh
12:15 PM taurus big yes. they put themselves out there to be noticed and pursued they don't really do the questing themselves...this is true of both sexes
12:16 PM geminis just love the process of looking and talking to as many types as possible. they are the flirts. the quick message types. but probably the most skittish to actually to meet up
 me: that's me
starrystella1972: oh. well. don't let us keep you
 me: ha ha
  but you're right
12:17 PM I did do some online dating stuff but was super picky about who I'd actualy meet in person
12:18 PM starrystella1972: cancers. ah. cancers. they are reluctant to use technology and would choose not to. however if they do they'd feel it was a last resort in a sense. online dating specifically. cancer men are huge fantasists so they might have a totally different agenda
leo's would create an entire website with multi-media output dedicated to themselves. they want you to want them and in a big way
 me: that is awesome!
12:19 PM those Leos!
starrystella1972: brings us to virgo the sign of workin' it
12:20 PM virgo is probably the most adept at using technology. not to say they are as innovative as, say, aquarius, but they are very savvy when it comes to researching the best means for finding love or booty using tech
12:21 PM libra, not so much. libra is a classicist and if technology included sending letters with wax seals by pony. and if you could create a network like that -- maybe talk to people at Discovery -- then you'd draw the Scales population.
12:23 PM scorpio, those night owls, they can be predatory. so the fun for them in using technology is opposite that of taurus (it's so-called opposite sign). they would gravitate toward tech outlets that allowed them to stay in stealth mode and swoop in and out, so to speak.
me: can you give me an example?
12:24 PM starrystella1972: you know the old adage: don't skype us, we'll skype you
 me: gotcha
starrystella1972: yeah any means where they can keep themselves hidden when they want to
12:25 PM sagittarius. they'll stop at nothing to find love. they are very open to using all means possible in pursuit of big affection
12:26 PM capricorn? they are awaiting libra's pony mail.
 me: a perfect match
 starrystella1972: we are, yes
 me: I didn't know!
starrystella1972: no, we actually hook up all the time
  just not with each other
 me: :)
12:27 PM starrystella1972: aquarius invented the internet (not al gore)
starrystella1972: anyway, they are the most progressive and innovative of people -- Charles Darwin, Jules Vernes, Thomas Edison, and those twitter fiends Yoko Ono, Ashton Kusher, Oprah, Ellen

Who Shies Away?

12:32 PM me: So do you think that the same people who are averse to using technology to find people, maybe lean on it a little more to break up?
12:33 PM starrystella1972:Pisces might break up via technology
they can be quite escapist and not want to deal in realities that are hurtful to others
12:34 PM they are too empathetic by nature sometimes to handle that
yeah maybe libra would enter the 21st century to dump someone
12:35 PM The opposite facing fish of Pisces are the totems of the goddess of love Aphrodite and her son Eros....Pisces like the erotic landscapes that technology can provide as much as the romantic landscapes
12:36 PM another big fantasy character!
me: A lot of Pisces in Second Life, then?
starrystella1972: you're trying to tell me something
12:37 PM me: It definitely sounds like most of the star signs find a way to use tech for love.
Do you think that there are folks who are just absolutely won't log on?
starrystella1972: most do yes of course. i think the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, so a third of the signs, are apt not to use technology12:39 PM they'd sooner join a club or take a class to meet potential partners

Advice For Logging On, Or Not

me: Do you have any advice for those who like to log on and for those who might reluctant?
12:43 PM me: Should any star signs be particularly cautious either because they're too outgoing or too reckless?
12:44 PM starrystella1972: sagittarius tends to wear rose-colored glasses -- they're optimism can be a deficit if they don't keep it in check. pisces, again, they have a tendency to get lost in their activities so they need to make sure that they have their wits about them
12:45 PM me: Interesting
starrystella1972: you sound like you speak from experience
me: Well, it's just that I hadn't thought about how being an optimist could get one in trouble.
12:46 PM starrystella1972: paradox
me: And for those who abhor tech. Should they continue along the analog or would you coax them out onto the digital highway?
12:47 PM starrystella1972: people should follow their own barometers
digital is as alienating as it is connective
12:48 PM if someone feels they're better off going to a park and striking up conversation on a bench why not?
we don't need to have a dossier on someone in order to date them. it can get a bit manic
12:49 PM
me: There's also the whole notion of cyber stalking someone, who you've just met or an old flame
starrystella1972: the great thing about this technology is that it is totally democratic. so one must be on their best behavior or else they get weeded out. so people should feel comfortable with the more brick and mortar type matching technologies. it's all about free will. the signs each have their own motivations and there is certainly enough progressive mechanisms out there to satisfy any agenda. just meet in a well lit place when you finally do. and carry a whistle

 starrystella1972: there's also restrainingorder.com
 me: ha ha ha
  nice
Okay, well I've taken up a lot of your time.
This was super fun and interesting.
I'm sure we could go on and on!
 starrystella1972: we couldn't agree more
12:51 PM let's do it again sometime
me: I think there could be more opportunities.
 starrystella1972: cool! thanks. S + Q out!
