Caddy Trek: $1,200 (anticipated)
If you’re thinking of becoming a pro-golfer, avoid the eventual hurt feelings that will happen whenever you decide to let go of your caddy (lest you go through the other painful breakup Tiger Woods experienced recently) by picking up a silent, robot caddy. The Caddy Trek is a compact foldable cart that follows you at walking speed on the course, and stops when you stop. It premiered last month at 2011 PGA Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.
SCIENCE CHANNEL VIDEOS: Robots Taking Over. Robots and machines are already everywhere you look these days. But huge advancements in technology are making them even more intelligent, capable and powerful. Yipe!
It can be controlled by the included transceiver to move left, right, backward and forward.On-the-green collisions can be avoided with the Caddy’s object detection technology and it’s built to withstand all terrain and climb to 30 degrees. Unlike a human caddy, the trek won’t tire out on you until you’ve done 27 holes or more.
