209490770_a7f7d283a6_o That would be how it works if you drove an electric vehicle. Your refueling would be done in the garage at your house, in a parking space at work, at the places you shop and dine.

If wireless power were doable at vehicle scale, you wouldn't even have to spend time plugging in. Maybe you'd charge while driving, or park, hands free, over an embedded charging system. You would spend less time charging your vehicle than you spend charging your phone now. Plus, as added bonus, smart electric vehicles promise to cut you even more free time, doing things like looking ahead to find you a parking spot in congested central business districts.

So, for the twenty minutes you might spend at the gas station each week now, future generations would have some additional time on their hands: 6 weeks (one and a half months!) (If they started driving at 16 and lived to 80 and you do the math straight, with no consideration for time spent sleeping and so on).

Might have to install one of those window washing stations in your garage, though.

(calculation: 52 weeks/3= 17.33 hours per year at 20 minutes per week, 64 years from 16 to 80, 17.33 hr/yr x 64 yr = 1109 hours, 1109/24 hours per day = 46.22 weeks per, 46.22/7 days per = 6.67 weeks per, 6.67/4.33 months per = 1.5 months)
