Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and in honor of that, I'm going to post a Wide Angle devoted to Love and Technology. You'll be able to find it online the week of February 8. In the meantime, I'm reaching out to you to ask what role technology plays (or has played) in your personal relationships.
Did your meet your current partner online? (I did!) Or is that so 2007? Do you ask for first dates via text message? (Personally, I dislike that.) Have you used technology to break up with someone? (I think face-to-face takes guts and that's why you should do it that way. Text messaging a break up is so weak!) How about flirting via email, IM or text messaging? (Guilty.)
And then there's that whole story about Roxxxy, the sex robot. I'd say that's a case where technology usurps a relationship.
The point is, technology is everywhere and you use it to find love, keep love and get rid of lovers. So tell us your stories in the comment section. You can even create a short video on Youtube and upload it to the comments section. If our video producers like what goes up, they may put together a compilation of their favorites.
Looking forward to what you submit. And nothing dirty. I have the power to delete smut, so don't bother.Photo: iStockphoto
