Isotoner SmartTouch Gloves: $29.00-$42.00
With record snow and ice hitting the northwest and northeastern parts of the country this week, people are fumbling around with scarves, coats and gloves, making interacting with touch-screen gadgets a horrible inconvenience. There are a ton of new gloves out right now that combat this problem, (and even a few places that will teach you how to make your own). Isotoner jumped on the touch screen glove bandwagon with their SmartTouch line of gloves.
NEWS: Gloves Let You Write in Thin Air
The line ranges from sporty fleece to sexy red (and other colors) leather. Each of them interact with touch screens via discreet conductive thread patterns on the index finger and thumb. The gloves have a non-slip palm and are waterproof, which bodes well for commutes in slushy conditions. Obviously, the SmartTouch lines interacts with smart phones, iPods and tablets, but it also plays well with gas station screens, ATMs and GPS devices. Texting is tricky in these gloves, regardless of how touchscreen-friendly they are; they aren’t normal fingers, and odds are they will occasionally hit the wrong key.
It’s really important to get the right size in any glove you plan on using for gadgets. One size too big and you're stuck with a slouchy finger than can’t interact with anything, much less grab your keys.
