I went to the YouTube site to find the commercial (below) sponsored by the Corn Refiner's Association promoting high-fructose corn syrup. I was surprised to find all of the spoof commercials. Where have I been? What is this battle brewing between the pro high-fructose corn syrup folks and the anti high-fructose corn syrup people? Don't they tired of saying "high-fructose corn syrup?"
All I can say is it doesn't look great for the Corn Refiners Association. There's yet another piece of research saying that high-fructose corn syrup will make you fat. In two experiments, lab rats who ate high-fructose corn syrup gained 48 percent more weight than those with access to table sugar, even when their overall caloric intake was the same. In humans, this would be equivalent to a 200-pound man gaining 96 pounds.
Read your labels, people.
