Google Tattles On Big Brother
Google is starting to act like a neutral party in Internet security by tattling whenever they believe a government is spying on users. If a state-sponsored hacker is attempting to access your information, Google will send you a message that reads, "Warning: We believe state-sponsored attackers may be attempting to compromise your account or computer."
In typical Google fashion, they're not picky about who they tattle on. Users in China are already receiving the message. One former Beijing journalist got the warning three times. "I left this industry about three years ago, in 2009, and left Beijing. I was really surprised that I was still a target," she told to CNN.
Google declined to tell CNN how they discover the state-sponsored hacking, but as many things Google, we can all hope they use their powers for good. via CNN
