As powerful as most smartphone and tablet cameras are, they still have one basic drawback: the lens. We’ve covered a variety of different lens options for iPhones, including the Lens Dial, Olloclip, the iPhone SLR Mount, and others, but this next gadget is quite a bit more adaptable than those.
The Mobi-Lens, currently seeking funding via Kickstarter, is a clip-on lens system that is said to fit not just the ubiquitous iPhone, but just about any smartphone, tablet, or laptop. This unique device is dead-simple: It has a spring clip (like a clothespin (remember those?)) that can fit over a number of different sized phones and tablets, enabling you to swap out a macro, wide-angle, or fisheye lens on the fly.
The funding campaign has a $30,000 goal to perfect their prototype lens and get it manufactured, and with over a month to go and $18,000 raised so far, the future looks bright for this handy little lens. Backers contributing $30 or more to the project will receive a lens as a Perk. Find out more at Mobi-Lens.
