Starving college students might finally be able to feed themselves.
On Monday, Amazon announced students will be able to rent tens of thousands of textbooks from its online Kindle Store via the ereader. Prices for rental books should be as much as 80 percent lower than their respective list prices.
The rental catalog includes books from publishers John Wiley & Sons, Elsevier and Taylor & Francis. The idea of textbook rentals isn’t entirely new. Chegg.com has offered physical textbook rentals since 2006.
