Retro Recorder: Ridiculously Small Camera Shoots 8mm Digital

//

What’s better than an ultra-cute and tiny video camera? One that lets you shoot in vintage 8mm style, that’s what.

We may be in the digital age, but it seems as though the higher the resolution we get from our images, the more we want to add some analog noise. Go figure. And thanks to the Fuuvi Bee camcorder, the answer to going retro with your video footage and still pictures fits right in the palm of your hand.

The Bee is one of a kind – an “8mm” digital video camera with an über-cutesy look. The tiny camera appears to be your parent’s old-school home movie camera, except shrunk to fit into your pocket. Of course, the insides of the Bee are much different than the original, saving the footage to a micro-SD card instead of that pesky film they used back in the day.

Here’s a sample of what you can expect from the Bee:

The Bee has a 1.3 MP resolution and shoots stills at 1280×960, and captures video at 640×480, and is said to shoot up to 100 minutes of footage on a single battery charge. The camera is priced at $79.99, available from AudioCubes.
