Tired of sucking? By that I mean are you tired of sucking on your hydration pack’s plastic straw while on the trail or track to get the water you need? Instead, get your H2O delivered, water fountain-like, from a “hydration engine.”

The new hydration packs from Geigerrig are outfitted with their unique pressurized system that only takes a few pumps to get working. Once pressurized, a bite or squeeze on the the hydration engine’s valve is all you need to let that precious liquid flow.

Adan Munoz, Marketing Manager at Good Sports Outdoor Outfitters, told me, “Geigerrig was one of the first hydration systems that has blown us away. With the pressurized system, their catch phrase ‘never suck again’ couldn’t be more appropriate. It’s great after a long run, hike or mountain bike tour when you’re just too tired to suck on a bite valve, and it’s also great for irrigating wounds from a nasty fall.”

That versatility is what gives the Geigerrig packs an edge over other hydration packs. Because the water shoots out of the pack, you can use it not only for drinking and wound irrigating, but for cleaning mud off gear, cooling off on a hot day on the trail, sharing with a buddy who is out of water, and a host of other uses. And as you’ll see in the video below, the included filtration system makes sure you get clean, fresh water, even if the source isn’t. I’ll drink to that.

The hydration engine comes in 2-liter and 3-liter capacities, and fits into a variety of packs depending on your needs: lightweight and compact for hikes, up to full packs when you need to haul a lot of gear.
