Here’s a gadget with an energetic purpose: A pocket-sized caffeine delivery system.
For those in need of a jolt of caffeine, without all of that troublesome slurping and swallowing of liquids necessary with actually drinking a cup of coffee, there’s now an inhaler. Yep, an aerosol caffeine inhaler.
The AEROSHOT Pure Energy tube looks like a shotgun shell with a fluorescent base, and users will twist it open and “gently puff in” small amounts of a powder containing 100mg of caffeine, which is said to be absorbed almost instantly in the mouth.
According to their website, it can go places coffee can’t, such as through the TSA security restrictions (I’d be wary of this claim. Sure, it’s not liquid, but one has to wonder if little shotgun shells full of fine powder are really going to make it through airport checkpoints).
Will groups of people puffin’ caffeine powder replace those brandishing coffee cups in the breakroom? Probably not anytime soon, as the product isn’t on the market yet, but the word is that it’s coming to Boston and NYC in a few months.
The company behind the product is Breathable Foods, part of the ArtScienceLabs network. Interested people can sign up for an invite (sample) on their website, or just follow along on Twitter and Facebook.
