MakerBot's 3D-Printed Mixtape Is MP3 Player Disguised as Cassette

Before there was a Pandora or iPod, there was the ubiquitous Walkman and cassette tape.

MakerBot is bringing back a bit of the good ol’ days by 3D printing something it calls Mixtape. There’s no tape though, because it’s actually a MP3 player clever disguised in the shape of a cassette. Instead, it features 2 gigabytes of storage; play/pause, forward and rewind buttons; a 3.5mm audio jack; and USB cable, DVICE reports.

Since these are individually made, the MakerBot Mixtape can be printed with different colors and designs. Those who already have a MakerBot 3D printer can get the Mixtape Kit for $25 — DIY work required. Those without can purchase a fully assembled one for $39.
