Goodbye Fanny Pack, Hello Front Pack: RIBZ Keeps Essentials at Hand

//
Forget rummaging around in your backpack for those little items that always end up in the bottom of your bag. There’s a new breed of backcountry bag in town, one that can keep your essential gear right at hand, no matter what you’re doing. Sure, there are already fanny packs, but you can leave those to bingo halls and flea market shoppers, because RIBZ is here.

RIBZ Front Packs are the missing link for the outdoorsman and sportsman who need easy access to the gear they need the most often. Made from water-resistant ripstop nylon (210d), and weighing in at about 9 ounces while empty, the RIBZ pack can handle up to 800 cubic inches of gear (and up to 10 pounds in weight), and helps to reposition a part of your pack weight to the front of your body. The pack is designed to to be an addition to a backpack, but can also be worn alone as a gear vest.

“Keep your essential gear in a fast and easy to reach location. The ability to ditch your pack at base camp and keep your most important backpacking gear on your person, simplifies your time and keeps everything you need right where you need it. By more evenly distributing your weight, RIBZ create a more comfortable pack configuration. For the same reason a backpack provides more even weight distribution, a front pack helps in relocating up to 10lbs for a better balanced load. Better balance gives better posture and increases mobility.”

Available in green, black, or camo, the RIBZ front packs sell for about $60.
