Psh. You’re not really a hard-core wino until you have this half-ton Transformer-style wine rack made of repurposed auto transmission parts. This gem, found on Craiglist Phoenix is a “ridiculously cool” “one-off piece of artwork” welded together from old auto parts (some of which are stamped with Ford’s logo, see below). The result is a six-foot tall, 1,000-pound behemoth that can hold 32 wine bottles. Following the Transformer theme, LEDs have been wired throughout the body.
If you’re concerned about corrosives, the maker says the parts were dipped in a solution to remove oil, grime and other chemicals.
If you’re ready to shell out $7,000, contact details are over on the Craigslist ad. Even if you don’t live in Phoenix, this is probably worth a cross-country road trip. It is summer, after all.
