T-Mobile touts the myTouch 4G Slide as having the best cell-phone camera on the market. And so Consumer Reports decided to test out that claim.

After consulting with its in-house camera expert, associate editor Terry Sullivan, Consumer Reports concluded probably has the best phone of any camera on the market, but still has shortcomings when compared to higher-end cameras, including point and shoots.

Pros: It performs well in low-light conditions (better than the iPhone 4), shoots panoramic and high-dynamic range. Interface is easy to navigate.

Cons: There is no optical zoom or manual aperture and shutter controls, something missing across all camera phones. Videos aren’t smooth, and audio in video doesn’t compare to iPhone 4.
