So you’re the proud owner of an iPhone 5, and you really want a dock for it, eh? Until Apple releases its own dock for the iPhone 5 (which may not happen), you can get crafty in the shop and build one from wood for about a dollar, or you can indulge your passion for those lovable plastic blocks by crafting one out of Legos.
The folks at the Daily Brick have got you covered with this DIY Lego dock:
It may be made of Lego but it still packs in a few features: Tilted at slight angle to make the screen easier to view just like the official docks Lego Grills to let sound out just below the iPhone speaker Clips to hold the cable in place One handed easy removal from the dock After you have built the dock, the cable that comes with the phone simply clips into place on the Lego clips inside. It is then held firmly and won’t move around when you dock or remove the iPhone.
If you’ve got your own stash of Legos, the plans are available for free online, or you can order a kit with all of the right pieces directly from the Daily Brick (~$19.00).
