The BioLogic PostPump 2.0 is a bike seat that doubles as a high-capacity tire pump.
The floor pump is integrated into the seat post, which slides inside the bike frame, making itself readily available in the event of low tire pressure. To use, you pull out the seat, attach a retractable hose and pump air into the tire.
The bike accessory was updated last month to include an aluminum adapter that fits the two major types of tire valves, a design element that helped it win a 2012 red dot product design award.
There are a few drawbacks, including lack of pressure gauge and added heft. At 718 grams, it’s heavier by more than an order of magnitude of some other portable pumps. On a cost basis, at $50, the PostPump 2.0 is comparable to its competitors.
