Crypteks: $130-$160
If you’ve ever had a nosy roommate, parent or sibling, you know that keeping information private is extremely difficult, especially in this digital age. Crypteks USB is a DaVinci Code-esque USB drive that not only has a physical lock code, but also has 256-bit AES encryption enforced by a password. The stick is housed in aluminum alloy finish with five letter-laden outer rings that can create up to 14,348,907 possible password combinations.
NEWS: Weak Security Will Doom the Grid
Users can set their password by removing the USB stick, unlocking the cap and sliding off the rings to rearrange them into their chosen word and then align them with the red dots on the side. It can read speeds up to 24 MB per second, write at speeds up to 10 MB per second and features normal USB drive functions like read-only mode. The drive has already been funded through Kickstarter and will soon be shipped out. They will retail for $130 for 8 GBs and $160 for 16 GBs.
