Other external charging stations in the car or for the home are fine — sleek, even. But there's just something about baking the charging right into standard home and office outlets that seems so neat and tidy. Use the pass-through AC outlet for charging a laptop (or plugging in a light or whatnot), while the combined 2.1A running to the USB ports is enough to charge a single tablet or two smaller devices at once.
