Most Massive Star Detected
July 21, 2010 - A new study finds evidence for stars more than twice the size of previously detected stars, including an uber-giant so luminous that it makes the light of our sun look no brighter than the glow of the full moon. This montage shows a visible-light image of the Tarantula nebula (left) along with a zoomed-in visible-light image from the Very Large Telescope (middle).
