Tour the Earth from the ISS: Gotta-See Video

//

If you've explored the Gotta-See Videos or DiscoveryNews.com' space coverage

you've likely seen slide shows, big pics and videos of Earth from the

International Space Station. This is a little different.

Looking at pictures, of Earth it can be difficult to put things into perspective. Our planet doesn't have borders drawn nor cities named.

As we watch the Earth zoom by, Justin Wilkinson of NASA's Johnson Space Center explains what we're seeing. Without borders and labels you will begin to recognize the patterns of the land, mountains and shores, oceans and islands.

From this perspective and with Wilkinson's tips, we can begin to understand the scale and beauty of the Earth from such a remarkable vantage point. As the video zooms by Europe, Los Angeles, Alaska and many other places, it's hard to not be captivated by the smallness of it all. via YouTube
