Our solar system is vast. Far more than can be easily described or fathomed. If the solar system was set out on a football field, with the sun at one end zone and Neptune at the other, the sun would roughly be the size of a golf ball and the gas giants would be smaller than a BB. It's hard to imagine, let alone comprehend, that the gravity from that golf ball would be the only thing holding the BBs on the field.
Like I said. It's big. But how big would the sun look if we were standing on Neptune? How about from Saturn? Or Mercury? via Science Channel
