Curiosity is NASA's latest Mars exploration success story, and the folks behind the science keep upping the ante. Now, using Foursquare, people can follow the rover around Mars as it leaves tips and checks into locations like the Gale Crater.
"NASA is using Foursquare as a tool to share the rover's new locations while exploring Mars," David Weaver, associate administrator for communications at NASA headquarters in Washington said in a press release. Their goal is to, "Help to involve the public with the mission and give them a sense of the rover's travels through Gale Crater."
If you participate in Foursquare and want to follow the rover's progress on Mars find the user Mars Curiosity, and if you'd like to you can download Foursquare for your smartphone. If you don't want to play along (or don't have a smartphone) you can still follow the rover at Foursquare.com/MarsCuriosity. via SiliconRepublic
