Bob Marley Reincarnation? In a move that will likely make people ask “what was he smoking?!” the California rapper Snoop Dogg has undergone a transformation. Or a reincarnation to be exact.
During a trip to Jamaica, Dogg had an awakening — a “religious and artistic” awakening by all accounts. On meeting Rastafarian monks, Dogg was told that he was actually a lion. “I didn’t know that until I went to the temple, where the High Priest asked me what my name was, and I said, ‘Snoop Dogg.’ And he looked me in my eyes and said, ‘No more. You are the light; you are the lion.’ From that moment on, it’s like I had started to understand why I was there,” he explained.
This revelation comes right when the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg released his first reggae album “Reincarnated” under his new name “Snoop Lion.”
So, why “Reincarnation”?
“I have always said I was Bob Marley reincarnated,” Lion said. “I feel I have always been a Rastafari. I just didn’t have my third eye open, but it’s wide open right now.” Will he remain “Snoop Lion”? I suppose it depends on how well his first reggae album sells… via Daily News
