New SARS-type Virus:
A 49-year-old man from Qatar who traveled to Saudi Arabia was transferred to London after suffering from acute respiratory syndrome and renal failure that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has identified as a new type of coronavirus like SARS. The Health Protection Agency reports that only one other person, a 60-year-old man from Saudi Arabia, has been diagnosed with the "new virus," which in that case was fatal. The two patients apparently had no contact with each other. The WHO "is currently in the process of obtaining further information to determine the public health implications of these two confirmed cases," reported a spokesperson.
