We know working out and exercising can make you fitter, healthier, and possibly add some years onto your clock. But will it make you smarter?
The answer is: Possibly. According to studies gathered by OnlineCollegeCourses, regular exercise doesn’t just boost your health, but it may also increase your smarts, too. Studies found that a quick work out right before a test seemed to raise scores, and employees who regularly hit the gym or the bike tend to be more efficient than their couch potato co-workers.
As the infographic below shows, regular exercise stimulates brain cell growth, doubling the hippocampus (the area of the brain associated with memory and learning), in the brains of mice that ran 3 miles a day. So it looks like not only will a workout give you bulging biceps, but an impressive frontal lobe as well.
