It wasn’t until 1958 that the company patented their ingenious building system, so how did this family-owned business grow from a one man operation to being the world’s fourth-largest toy manufacturer? It’s a pretty amazing story.

For their 80th anniversary, the company released this short animated history of the LEGO Group from 1932 to 1968, which gives us a little perspective on those lovable little plastic bricks:
