Moderate Drinking May Keep You Awake

College is commonly known as a time of high alcohol consumption while simultaneously being known as a time where sleep is a premium. However, a new study suggests when college students drink a relatively low amount of alcohol, they got less sleep than they did on nights when they didn’t drink at all.

In comparison, those who drank high amounts of alcohol did not experience a reduction in sleep time, but did feel tired the next day.

To put it simply, drinking a little bit of alcohol interferes with the amount of sleep you get, and while drinking a significant amount interferes with the quality of sleep. via LiveScience
