Big Bird's Nest Wrecked in Storm, Says Elmo: For all those New York City kids who may have been frightened as high winds howled through the city and waters rose to record levels, the local public radio station, WNYC, had a special guest on this morning's Brian Lehrer Show.
Sesame Street's Elmo, voiced by Kevin Clash, told listeners that he was scared last night too but that he was "with his mommy and daddy" and he "asked a lot of questions about what happened."
"The windows were moving and stuff," Elmo said.
As for preparations, he told listeners that he and his mom stocked up on peanut butter and canned tuna.
But there was some bad news as well: Big Bird's nest was ruined in the storm. But just like New Yorkers are doing today, everyone teamed up and helped put it back together.
