Bel Air Rocket Man: How was your day today? Did it include racing around Bel Air in the cutting-edge of electric car technology while chatting about your rocket company to a Forbes journalist? No? Well, I’m not interested in talking to you. To Elon Musk, however, that’s just an average day. On an under-average day he’s forced to drive his Porsche to drop the kids off at school as the Roadster doesn’t have back seats. Let’s talk to him instead. (2:50 p.m.) via Forbes
Helicopter Parents Ruin Easter: An annual Easter egg hunt in Colorado Springs that attracted hundreds of children has been canceled because of aggressive parenting. Last year, enough parents jumped the rope into the kids-only egg hunt to swipe up eggs for their precious little ones that the eggs were gone in seconds, leaving many tikes empty basketed. Experts blame the fiasco on helicopter parents and their relentless hovering over every aspect of their children’s lives. (11:15 a.m.) via AP
Batman Stopped by Cops: Even superheroes have run-ins with the law. Batman impersonator Lenny B. Robinson was on his way in his Batmobile (a Lamborghini) to visit sick children in a hospital when Montgomery County Police in Silver Spring, Md. pulled over the caped crusader for not having a proper license plate. Instead of numbers, Robinson had just his symbol — a black bat — on his plate. After explaining his mission and promising to get a proper plate for his Batmobile, the Dark Knight was let off with a warning. (10:48 a.m.) via Yahoo News
Thyme for Acne: The herb thyme may be better than prescription cream for treating acne. Research presented this week at the Society for General Microbiology’s Spring Conference in Dublin revealed results from a clinical study that tested the effect of several herbs as well as benzoyl peroxide on Propionibacterium acnes, the bacterium that infects pores and causes acne. “While thyme, marigold and myrrh are common herbal alternatives to standard antibacterial skin washes, this is the first study to demonstrate the effect they have on the bacterium that causes the infection leading to acne,” said Dr. Margarita Gomez-Escalada, who lead the study. Using herbs instead of chemicals could work better for people with sensitive skin. (9:30 a.m.) via Huffington Post
