Cuba Relaxes Travel Restrictions: Cubans
will find it easier to travel abroad, since they won't need exit permits to leave the country, reports the
BBC.
For the first time since Fidel Castro tightened travel restrictions in the 1950s, Cubans will need
only a passport and visa to leave the country and they can stay overseas for up to 24 months instead of
11.
However, Cubans who are considered more valuable to the country, like doctors, will likely find it not
as easy to get the necessary travel papers, the BBC says.
The changes take place in mid-January.
