In this day and age, cities are becoming increasingly important. As the home becomes the center of our lives and our homes move closer together, we need solutions to sprawl, sub-urbanism, traffic and other issues.
Whereas in Paris, cafes, shops and other necessities are within a 20-minute walk, cities that formed after the automobile have become sectionalized and separated. Designer Kent Larson shows a number of solutions for creating more efficient urban areas. Larson wants our cities to function more like villages of yesteryear.
Ideas like "folding cars, quick-change apartments and other innovations" could make our cities better for the people who live there.
