A frugal beermaker in the U.K. is finding that leftover (sometimes congealed) cereal called Sugar Puffs actually makes a tasty Pale Ale. Homebrewer John Wright says as long as the cereal isn’t stale, it nicely replaces barley in a batch.
The starch of the wheat and added honey from the cereal are fermentable sugars. A little malted barley helps break down the starch. He helpfully includes his recipe, which will make about a dozen liters. via The Guardian
