Atheist Wears Religious Colander as Headgear: Austrian law limits headgear in driver's license photos and Niko Alm is an atheist, yet there he is wearing a colander on his head.
According to him, he's a "pastafarian," or a follower of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. The religion was created as a joke, but has garnered quite a few followers who seem to consider the story as silly as other religious texts.
To prove this point, in 2008 Alm asked to wear a pasta strainer on his head for his driver's license photo. Saying it was "a requirement of his religion, pastafarianism." according to the BBC. Finally, in 2012 — after undergoing mental health checks — the police in Austria relented and allowed his "religious headgear" to appear in his photo. via BBC and Good
