I made a mistake. I thought that as sea level rose, coastal wetlands would just shift inland a tad, and all would be well with that sort of habitat. Wrong. A new study just out regarding 131 jurisdictions along the U.S. Atlantic Coast show that coastal developments have wetlands trapped between rising seas and parking lots. No place to go, darn it.
