A six-year old Colorado boy took off into the wild blue yonder today in the basket of a 20-foot wide helium balloon shaped like a flying saucer.
It was not immediately clear how this contraption, complete with a plywood basket came into existence. I'm gonna go ahead and go out on a limb and guess dad -- Richard Heene, who is evidently an avid storm chaser, and enjoys taking the family out in search of tornadoes -- had a hand in this one. He and his spouse Mayumi were on the reality show "Wife Swap" and apparently enjoy searching for extraterrestrials as a hobby. Interesting family.
The kid's name is Falcon, by the way. Not going to touch that.
This is admittedly a stretch for the Earth Pub, but I when I read this story it kind of appealed to the adventurist in me. Maybe Falcon just wanted to get away from his crazy parents for a while, to get out and see the wide world? I think we can all relate. Either way, I hope he's okay -- when the balloon landed, authorities didn't find him inside.Source: CNN
