Jan. 4, 2012 -- Juuso Mettälä of Finland is an ice-diving videographer with a team that knows how to take full advantage of their topsy-turvy world. The scene above depicts three SCUBA divers ice fishing in Lake Saarijärvi, one of Finland's many ice-covered lakes. Only watch the bubbles; these divers are all upside down, using the lake's icy roof as their floor!

SCUBA diving under icy lakes is a popular sport in Finland and the video is featured prominently on the Dive Club of the Oulu Aquarians Association. Normally, dry suit divers are taught to wear ankle weights to keep the air from getting caught in their boots and causing a diver to turn head-over-heels, but these divers have mastered the technique as an art form.

Watch as Eelis Rankka as the fisherman, Tommi Salminen as the fisherman's friend, and Jukka Pelttari as the boy with the balloon ice fish. I can only imagine they are attempting to catch flying fish.

In a video Mettälä posted in June, he says the inspiration for the performance came about after a coffee break discussion at work. "Just fooling around under ice upside down," he writes. Don't we all wish goofing off at work could lead to this much fun?

Filmed in a lake in Haukipudas, in the Oulu Province of Finland with Eelis Rankka as the balloon seller, Tommi Salminen as the tired diver, and Esa Vuoppola as the cruising diver:
