According to this article from the Telegraph, all of the transportation associated with the climate change meetings in Copenhagen will emit as much CO2 as a city the size of the UK’s Middlesbrough would over the same period of time. For those of us across the pond, Middlesbrough is about the same size population wise as Syracuse, NY.

Says the article:
"The airport says it is expecting up to 140 extra private jets during the peak period alone, so far over its capacity that the planes will have to fly off to regional airports – or to Sweden – to park, returning to Copenhagen to pick up their VIP passengers."

Toss in some 1,200 limos and you're well on the way to the estimated 41,000 tons of carbon emissions that will be produced during the conference. For the sake of irony, you'd think at least SOME of those folks could have tele-commuted or shared a couple rides in their private jets.
