If the electric vehicle movement continues to catch on, environmentalists and commuters won’t be the only one’s benefitting; city parks may join in on the happiness as well. LumineXence architect Giancarlo Zema designed Lotus, a solar-powered EV charger to double as an LED streetlight, suitable for public areas. The charger has a built-in covered bench, perfect for people watching, relaxing or lunching.

Although the leaf motif makes the charger look a little like something out of A Bug’s Life, it’s got integrated photovoltaic panels, a waterproof outlet and LED lights to make it more than just a decorative statue. The leaf comes in two sizes: small for 500W production and large for 2.8kW production. Zema designed the leaf to blend in with whatever surroundings it is in by offering different eco-safe paint options. The project was sponsored by Solarday, Siderpali, Eurozeta and other green-centric companies.
