Specialized has launched the Turbo, a new electric bicycle that it describes as “a speed-focused, high-tech urban bike.” With a top speed of 28 mph (45 kph), the Turbo is also the “World’s Fastest E-Bike” and could easily get you a speeding ticket on many residential streets.

The Turbo is powered by a 250 watt rear-hub motor and a 432 Wh lithium-ion battery that only takes 2 hours to recharge. The battery, which was built from scratch, is also removable so that users can recharge wherever it’s convenient. A LED power indicator located on the battery keeps users aware of how much juice their bike has and an an on-board charging with a magnetic connection that makes re-charging simple.

The Turbo also comes with other cool features like integrated head and taillights, an integrated battery lock and regenerative brakes that help recharge the battery.

Specialized has not announced the pricing for the Turbo, but it is set to be released in May.
