For fans of the Maserati GranTurismo, Maserati has just taken the wraps off the Maserati GranCabrio MC, which is inspired by the GranTurismo MC Stradale. The Maserati GranCabrio MC four-seater convertible combines the aggressive exterior and high performance from the MC Stradale with the style and charm of Maserati’s four seater convertible.
The Maserati GranCabrio MC is 48 millimeters longer than the GranCabrio and GranCabrio Sport, is characterised by a front end which is inspired directly by the MC Stradale. The rear is characterized by the large spoiler, that gives the convertible greater negative lift at high speeds. Maserati has yet to release the official specs for the GranCabrio MC, but it’s expected to borrow its 4.7L V8 from the MC coupe. In the coupe the V8 is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and generates 444 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque.
Maserati says that the decision to build the GranCabrio MC was based on the success of the GranTurismo MC Stradale, which was warmly received by customers thanks to a masterly translation and adaptation of racing characteristics for use on the road. The Maserati GranCabrio MC is going to have its world debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, which kicks off later this week.
