Considering that the Bugatti Veyron is among the best sports cars of all time and it has a top speed of 268mph, the $1.6 million price tag doesn’t seem totally insane (just a bit). For the 99.9999% of car lovers who’ll never get to drive, let alone own, one of these bad boys, having a realistic model isn’t such a bad alternative. And unlike the real thing, this “paper supercraft” model is free, and a fun do it yourself project.
The 2.5′ long replica is the work of graphic design artist Taras Lesko, he’s posted the 44 page template and instructions on his Web site, Visual Spicer (they’re free, but donations are appreciated).
As the timelapse video below makes clear, there’s a lot of printing, cutting and gluing involved. But at the end, you’ll have your very own Veyron- even if you can’t quite fit behind the wheel.
