If you coughed at the price of the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible I recently tested you might just choke at the newest uber-luxury model – the 2013 XJ Ultimate.
Only 30 of these babies will be destined for US delivery so get your order in early and be prepared to shell out $155,000 for each.
The new XJ is the flagship sedan for the English luxury line and is quite the kitten in and of itself. For the extra 60 grand you get added treatments for the rear seat area that includes two individually tailored seats trimmed in premium leather with power recline, lumbar support, massage function and climate controls.
There is also a custom-made rear business table machined from solid aluminum with piano black trim and powers into position.
Between the rear seats is a champagne chiller and of course a pair of champagne flutes are included.
Apple gets into the Jaguar game as each rear-seat passenger is provided with an iPad and keyboard which are housed and charged in dedicated leather-trimmed docks in the rear of the front seats.
Rearseat entertainment is also includes twin headrest-mounted monitor screens and wireless headphones. Should you forego private listening the XJ Ultimate gets treated to a 15-channel, 20-speaker surround sound system for the ultimate audiophile experience.
The new ride features revisions to the air-damped suspension system for optimized rear ride comfort and rides on unique 20-inch Maroa forged alloy wheels. Powering the 2013 XJ Ultimate is a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 for 510hp and is backed by a new eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Jaguar adds a few finishing touches to front and rear of the car and the exclusive color of this vehicle for US customers will be Black Amethyst.
