For a mere $375,000 you can get the keys to the Lexus LFA supercar with its 552 horsepower V10 engine, but add an additional $70,000 on top of that and you get the LFA with the Nürburgring Package. That extra $70k gets you 10 more horsepower, a faster transmission and modifications to the exterior that work to improve the car’s track performance.
What are the actual differences on the track between the two versions of the LFA? Well the standard LFA has lapped the Nurburgring-Nordschleife in 7:38, but it’s now being reported that the LFA with the optional Nürburgring Package recently recorded a 7:14 time. The news come via EVO Magazine’s Chris Harris who posted the news on Twitter.
Lexus test driver Akira Iida recently got behind the wheel of the LFA with the Nürburgring Package and recorded the 7:14 lap time, which beat out other supercars like the Chevy Corvette ZR1 and Porsche 911 GT2. The 7:14 lap time puts the LFA with the Nürburgring Package in the top five quickest cars ever to race the track.
