A High Speed Tour Puts You Inside a BMW In Construction

If you’ve ever wondered what the view from a car in the process of being built looks like, here’s your chance to find out. And it’s not just any automaker’s assembly line you’re rolling down: The video is produced by BMW and the car in construction is the 3-series. The video, with a camera view alternating between outside and inside the car-to-be,  follows the process at BMW’s Munich plant.

The tour starts at the press shop, heads to the body shop, paint shop (where the car repeatedly dives into a pool of water), assembly, and finishes up at the final stage, marriage. The high-speed, Paul Greengrass-style editing makes the process seem that much more impressive. The tour shows that while a lot of the work is done by some very impressive robots, there’s a lot that still needs to be done by hand, especially as things move towards the finishing touches. So check out the video and find out what makes a BMW a BMW!
