Porsche has unveiled the 2013 Cayenne GTS, which will debut at the 2012 Auto China motor show later this month. The 2013 Cayenne GTS marks the second-generation of the high-performance Cayenne that is based on the Cayenne S. It will go on sale in August with a starting price of $82,050.
The 2013 Cayenne GTS gets its motivation from a 420 horsepower naturally-aspirated V8, which is 20 more horsepower than the Cayenne S. The V8 is mated to an an eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission with integrated engine auto start stop function and all-wheel-drive. According to Porsche the Cayenne GTS will reach 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds and has a top-track-speed of 162 mph. For improved driving dynamics the Cayenne GTS has been lowered by 20 mm and has a lower final drive ratio.
The Cayenne GTS is recognizable from the outside by its high-gloss black trim, prominent side skirts and wider wheel arches as well as the hood and front fascia from the Cayenne Turbo. It also rides on 20-inch RS Spyder wheels and a sport exhaust system with matte black twin tailpipes is standard.
Inside, the front passengers get eight-way adjustable front sports seats with Alcantara accents and for the first time in the Cayenne, a new Sport Chrono package is now available. A Sound Symposer system also channels authentic engine intake sounds into the cabin.
