Iguana 29: $287,300

Alright, we’ve done the amphibious camper, so it’s only fitting that we also mention an amphibious yacht. The Iguana 29 is a 29-foot speed boat with retractable caterpillar treads than can move freely between water and land. The treads make it easier to get into the water because it will essentially push itself off to sea. The ten passenger boat can go about 5 mph on land, even when going up a hill, and has lower ground pressure than a person which makes it easier to navigate through wet sand. While it’s land speeds are meek, its velocity on water can reach up to 35 knots. Check out the video below to get a visual of how it works.

Having a boat with treads might seem pointless to the average boater, but it would be useful when the sea (or lake or river) isn’t as close as you’d like it to be. All it requires for transportation is a flat bed trailer. The yacht is expected to go for almost $290,000, so it’s probably better that owners won’t have to rent a spot on the marina.
